About Us
Pharmacy Technician Enterprises, Inc. is dedicated to providing
the technical and practical knowledge necessary to:
- Obtain an entry-level position as a pharmacy technician.
- Become a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by successfully
passing the National Certification Exam administered by the Pharmacy Technician
Certification Board (PTCB).
- All of our instructors are state-licensed pharmacists as well
as state licensed teachers and Registered Health Care Educators
(RHE's). This course will cover such topics as drug delivery
systems, medical terminology, generic and trade names of drugs,
dosage forms, interpreting orders, storage conditions, inventory,
legal and financial issues, and pharmaceutical calculations.
In addition, we offer our students practical training in dispensing,
IV preparation, and practice certification exams to enable them
to get certified, demand higher salaries, and start working immediately!
Pharmacy technicians who can prepare intravenous (IV) medications
are extremely marketable and demand higher starting salaries
in hospitals, home infusion companies, and retail pharmacies
— YOU CAN'T GET THIS FROM AN ONLINE COURSE!
The Occupational Outlook Handbook published by the Federal Bureau
of Labor Statistics has outlined many of the requirements, duties,
and job outlooks for pharmacy technicians. Click on their link
above for more information. In the Northeast, particularly in the
New York Metropolitan area, pharmacy technicians earn an average
of $15–20 an hour or more, and the bonuses, incentives, and salaries
keep increasing as the demand for trained technicians steadily
increases! The ever-aging population, advancement in technology,
development of new drug therapies, and the shifting of the pharmacist's
roles from dispensing to clinical monitoring and counseling has
created a desperate need for trained pharmacy technicians in all
health care settings. The Federal Bureau of Labor Statistics has
predicted that the need for pharmacy technicians will increase
more than 32 percent in the next eight years! And, Certified Pharmacy
Technicians (CPhT's) earn an average of 23 percent more than non-certified
pharmacy technicians!
The Pharmacy Technician
Certification Board (PTCB) is a national non-governmental agency
that offer Certification and the prestigious title of CPhT to any
pharmacy technician who successfully passes their exam. Since 2004, 99% of Pharmacy
Technician Enterprises graduates successfully pass the PTCB Certification Exam on their first attempt!
